Early May Fishing Report Traverse City
Early May Fishing Report Traverse City:
Fishing has been outstanding so far this month! Finding and catching Trout anywhere from 30 feet out to 150. Cowbells fishing the bottom 10 feet of the water column has been the ticket on the Storm Hawk so far. Some glow spoons early to mid-morning have been also utilized to get the trout to bite.
There has been a few steelhead and smaller “Jack” Salmon caught as well. These have been taken on lead core lines from 1 color to 10 colors. Traditional spoons like the Yeck Fireball have been riding on a lead core on our trips since beginning of the season.
Jigging for Lake Trout and Cisco has been producing as well for most anglers. The Jonah jigs have been the ticket for both species for the anglers that prefer to jig.
The surface temps ranged from 39 degrees all the way to 46 degrees by the river today.
Hope this helps some anglers get out and catch a few!
