Traverse City Fishing Report – Fall Perch Fishing Continues

Traverse City Fishing Report – Fall Perch Fishing Continues

Perch fishing has been good, and the weather has been amazing here in Traverse City. Finding fish has not been the problem on any of our outings. We have had a few trips where finding quality fish has been trickier, but the rods have been busy with good action on all trips. As for bait to use, it depends on the body of water you are fishing. Anything from minnows, wigglers, to shrimp are worth giving a shot, as they all have their day. We have found active fish in anywhere from 12 feet of water out to 60 feet. West and East Grand Traverse Bay has been fishing well, as have some of the inland lakes. With this “Indian summer” we are experiencing, this perch season might go longer than the past seasons. We will be fishing the Alumacraft until fall turns into downright cold winter, so there is still time to get out and fish. Once winter sets in, we will be back out on the ice for our guided ice fishing trips around the Traverse City area. We fish a variety of lakes throughout Northern Michigan depending on ice conditions and where the fish are biting. If you are looking to get out ice fishing this winter, we are already booking trips for the 2027 season.
