The future forecast is looking GREAT to make some ice! I am hoping to have options for our guided ice fishing trips started in the next two weeks! With boats now officially put away we are counting down the days for our 2026 guided ice fishing season! Looking at the extended forecast it is encouraging we should have fishable ice sooner this season than last. Fingers crossed! On our guided ice fishing trips, we provide transportation via snowmobile/four-wheeler when ice allows. We only offer fully guided trips guide will be near at all times during your trip. Bait, tackle, heated shelter, seats, and electronics all available. Fish cleaning is not provided unless other arrangements have been made. Where do we fish? We fish all the lakes within an hour drive from Traverse City. Where we fish is at depends on a few variables, from ice conditions to fishing report, and what you would like to fish for! We will make a recommendation on what we feel like is the best option for your group! But ultimately safety is the top priority. Still have more questions? With the 2025 Salmon season all wrapped up wanted to touch base with you and fill you in on what you saw, heard, or even maybe missed! The 2025 season was absolutely amazing; it was game on all the way until we had to pull the boat in October. We anticipate the 2026 season to be even better and hope to have YOU out and show you this world class fishery! The calendar is starting to fill in for the 2026 season. We are still offering our Perch fishing on the Alumacraft until it gets too cold. We will then change gears for our Guided Ice Fishing season!

The great fishing continues here in Traverse City. Our fishing charter customers have been rewarded with big hauls of fish! Lake Trout, Steelhead, and Salmon have been making a regular appearance in the cooler. The Salmon fishing should improve daily as we wait for our big push of Salmon to arrive. The month of June flew by! Fishing was pretty great for most of the month. We had a few challenging trips where fishing was slower than we would have liked due to crazy weather conditions. But all in all, it was outstanding, now we are preparing to turn our calendars to July! Trout fishing remains strong, with the occasional Steelhead, and Salmon caught. West Grand Traverse Bay offered some excellent fishing for the month of May! We had a few challenging trips as the fish kept us guessing a few days. But for the most part, we had action filled charter fishing experiences! Fish have really started to settle into the shallower waters we have been targeting 30-70 feet of water on any given day the last week. Trolling trips and the new option jigging has been very productive! The next few weeks should give some of the most action-packed trips of the year! The fishing continues to be strong here in the Traverse City area. Catches of Lake Trout continue to be strong! Catching trout anywhere from 30-160 feet of water. Surface temperatures are still in the low 40s in majority of the bay. Down by the river mouth it has seen it as warm at 48 degrees! Trout have been taken on spoons and “cowbell” setups! We added a second boat to the arsenal! We purchased a Alumacraft 185, this boat will be for the more hands on experience. Providing jigging and casting charters here in the Traverse City area. This boat will be for 1-3 people, fishing the Grand Traverse Bay, to inland lake Perch and Walleye, maybe even Frankfort Harbor. Inspections were completed last week! Let’s FISH!!!!

Early May Fishing Report Traverse City: Fishing has been outstanding so far this month! Finding and catching Trout anywhere from 30 feet out to 150. Cowbells fishing the bottom 10 feet of the water column has been the ticket on the Storm Hawk so far. Some glow spoons early to mid-morning have been also utilized to get the trout to bite. There has been a few steelhead and smaller “Jack” Salmon caught as well. These have been taken on lead core lines from 1 color to 10 colors. Traditional spoons like the Yeck Fireball have been riding on a lead core on our trips since beginning of the season. Jigging for Lake Trout and Cisco has been producing as well for most anglers. The Jonah jigs have been the ticket for both species for the anglers that prefer to jig. The surface temps ranged from 39 degrees all the way to 46 degrees by the river today.
