Ice Fishing season: The weather has been making it difficult to get out on the ice here in Northern Michigan. We have had limited opportunities to get out thus far. The trips we have been able to get out has provided a lot of fun however! With the forecast and what appears to be some cold weather coming we should have the opportunity to get out on more lakes! Ice Fishing Trips:

Our guided ice fishing trips will be kicking off as soon as the weather permits. Generally this is right around early-mid January. Never been ice fishing? No problem we got you covered! Everything is provided to ensure a fun time! Just bring a one day fishing license and we got the rest! We provide shelter, lures, fishing poles, tip ups, seats, heater, fishfinder/underwater camera, and condition permitting transportation. Give us a call if you have any questions!

Jumbo Perch!

Whitney was recently out with us on a guided ice fishing trip. First time on the ice and she was a pro! This perch measured in at over 14″ which is a “master angler” pretty awesome fish!

Fishing has been pretty steady through the winter, not fast and furious by any means but good enough to keep us busy. We have targeted mainly Walleye, and perch this season but there is so much more to offer here in Northern Michigan!

Guided Ice Fishing Traverse City

We have been having a blast here in Traverse City on our guided ice fishing trips! We have been targeting Walleye, and Perch mostly! Fishing has been steady, not fast and furious but enough fish are coming up to play! The highlight of the last week was a group from Kentucky, Joe landed the biggest Walleye of the season thus far. It measured in at 27.5 inches, a very respectable fish! We still have roughly a month to come out and enjoy a Michigan past time and try your hand at a guided ice fishing charter right here in Traverse City!

Ice Fishing Northern Michigan

Happy Holidays! With the colder weather setting in we are starting to think ice fishing here in Northern Michigan. I snuck out one time last week at a small inland lake. There was 4-5 inches where I was sitting just outside of me however the ice was very thin about one inch. Did not have much success one small perch! But it was really nice to get out even for 45 minutes. I fished Mud Lake in Interlochen, right off the boat launch. I have been gearing up for the up coming season! Looking forward to all of our favorite inland lakes to lock up safely. We are getting close, very close! Book your guided ice fishing trip for Northern Michigan!

Ice fishing season coming to a close

The ice fishing season is coming to a close here in Northern Michigan. With this weeks forecast the ice is going to turn fast into a slushy mess. My personal favorite walleye season closes on the 15th so I am calling it a season. We had a great ice fishing season, but I am looking forward to fishing the soft water.
