While I wish I was fishing today, it is not always a bad thing to have some time to regroup the boat! I was in need of a day to spend a few hours working on organizing and tying new rigs to keep us on the fish. With the beautiful weather me, my wife Mackenzie, and of course our beautiful baby Myla are spending daddy’s day off at the office. I am looking forward to getting after it again in the morning with a clean, and organized boat! Hoping I will be able to find everything when its organized and where everything belongs! We decided to go for it as the wind was ripping across Traverse City. While the other boats wanted stay home, I was fortunate to have a hardy crew that wanted try their luck! As we went in search of some calmer water we figured out it was some rough stuff, roughest water I have encountered all season by far. As we went further north we tucked in by Power Island where it was still rough, but very fishable! After fishing an hour with no bites I wondered if we made the right call by coming out. Then it was game on we landed our first fish, we were hooting and hollering having a blast so excited we caught one. No sooner than when I got that line back in the water we had another bite, landed the second fish of the day! Then another, and another, and another, before you knew it we had a 5 man limit! It was a trip to remember as we contemplated on going back in when we got to where we needed to be. But we stuck it out and it paid off big time for my “hardheaded” self proclaimed crew!

Ran a quick 3 hour trip this morning. We managed to land our limit in relatively short order! Fishing has been great all season and today was no excpetion. The fish have shifted a little deeper with all the heat we have had lately. Once we found them we were able to put them in the boat and a good rate! Its that time of the year again! Cherry festival has kicked off which means our bays are going to be extremely crowded and busy! Good news is the fish have been keeping us even busier! Traverse City charter fishing is off to an amazing start. The fishing has been fantastic in Traverse City since we splashed the boat in May. Another great trip today! We did however have a slow start, only 1-2 on lake Trout the first hour of fishing. We continued to check around looking for some active fish and man did we! We went on a few flurries through the morning to load the cooler and do some catch and release. The weather was absolutely beautiful and fishing was just as good! Fishing is red hot while enjoying fishing charters in Traverse City, Mi with Storm Hawk Sport Fishing. We have experienced limit catches going on over two weeks now. With excellent lake trout action, and some steelhead to be had!
