Happy memorial day to all that have served and those that gave the ultimate sacrifice. Truly humbling when you take a step back and look at where this country has gone and the men and women who have fought for our freedoms allowing us to follow our passions. Today we did not have a fishing charter on the schedule but decided to go down to the boat with the family for a while. It was my little Mylas first time on the boat for the season she of course loved it! I can not wait to watch her grow and see where life takes us as we grow as a family. I am truly blessed to have everything that we do. We will be out on the waters of Traverse City doing what I love providing some great charter fishing trips! 

The name says it all Sunday fun day charter fishing Traverse City, Mi. We had a bunch of action to start the day but only landing 1 of the first 7 bites! We hung in there knowing we had a good thing going just needed some to stay on the hook. They sure did, we landed a limit plus some. It was the picture perfect morning for Traverse City Memorial weekend weather. Eric, Rick, Alex, and Bodey all had a great time as they all had multiple chances at cranking in some really nice fish! Another successful fishing charter today! We had a blast catching lake trout through the entire charter today! Granted the fishing wasn’t as good as it was the other day but we still had a very successful trip! Landing 7 trout through the morning, we had enough action to keep us busy! Lori caught the biggest of the day weighing in at 9 pounds! Looking forward to see what the fish gods have in store for us tomorrow!!!! We have Monday open still! Well it has been a windy day in Traverse City. No charter fishing trip today just doing some work to the tackle tying new rigs together to try and keep a edge on the picky fish! Spending time off the water working on tackle makes all the difference in being successful day in day out on the fish of Traverse City. Fantastic fishing in Traverse City continues! Today was the best bite of the young season with nearly 30 bites in less than three hours of fishing! Pretty awesome if you ask me, we landed 22 gorgeous Lake Trout all while only keeping 3. With the surface temp being under 50 degrees I feel comfortable with catch and release as they all swam away strong and went straight down. This is one of my favorite times of the season to fish! Mainly because the fish are in shallower water and you can still find them out deep! While fishing in Traverse City you will notice our water is incredible clean and you can see a long way down, while we were fishing close to the drop off we were all having fun looking over the side watching the fish swim around it was pretty cool! We saw Lake Trout, Cisco, Smallmouths and a few we weren’t 100% percent sure of the species. We had non stop action through out the morning with a few doubles a few triples and one short lived quad! That doesn’t happen every day while fishing Traverse city! The next month should be producing a incredible fishery for the shallow water program which we truly enjoy! We did the final touches on the “Storm Hawk” today for the off season upgrades. Did a lot of upgrades to the cabin for our customers to enjoy while the weather isn’t the greatest. There is plenty of room for up to 6 people to get cozy in the cabin to get out of the foul weather or when the fishing gets slow. We hope to show you the great vessel we get the pleasure to be on daily through the season! We are well under way to booking our summer up, if you have a date in mind call now before its to late!

Well the fishing season is officially under way for the Great Lakes, Lake Michigan is going to provide some amazing salmon fishing this year. The “Tournament Trail” that has a lot of charter boats, fun fisherman, and talented tournament fisherman has been under way for two weeks now. The results have been pretty incredible thus far with the biggest salmon weighing in at 29.3 pounds in St. Joe this last weekend and countless fish in the 20 pound range! This means those fish if they made it to August, they would be 30 pounds up too 45 pounds! This is going to be a great year to go after your trophy King Salmon! We expect to see salmon in good numbers in the Traverse City late July, but we will be in Frankfort for a few trips before the boat will be kept in Traverse City for the salmon run.

Fished yesterday and had great success. Fished some different spots just checking stuff out, and found fish in the three locations we tried. With the water being so cold still most of the fish have not moved into the shallows. However there are fish in shallow tight to shore but I imagine in another week the shallow water program will be the place to be! This photo is a buddy of mine fighting the first fish of the morning. It hit with in 5 minutes of having our lines set!

The first fish of the charter fishing season! It was a long wait but well worth it, we had a great day on the water. Lots of action through the morning nice and steady with two doubles. Heading out again tomorrow already looking forward to seeing what West Grand Traverse Bay has to offer!
